Living here in west Michigan there has been no shortage of accolades and fond remembrances of the late President Jerry Ford, how he was a man of the people and for the people. All of which, I couldn't agree with more.
My question is why was that moron elected over him?

People were still mad at the GOP over Watergate, plus pardoning Nixon was the right thing to do but it was politically unpopular, and finally he mispoke during a debate about Russian domination of eatern Europe and the press creamed him on it.
Yes, all that considered. I wonder if people knew what a miserable and incompetent president that carter would turn out to be, would they have voted differently. Hind sight is always 20/20.
